One has to be firm with domestic help these days. Oh, I know what you’re thinking. “But Roseanne, they’re people too! It’s shameful to treat your maids like that, absolutely disgraceful!” Oh, yes - I’ve heard it all before. But you know what? It’s only what is right - what they’ve earned for themselves.

Take little Koko here. I took her on three months ago, and she began promisingly enough. But after a few weeks she began showing up late. One morning it was traffic, another time it was the weather, and so on. Then she got involved with a guy, I guess - and she was acting all dreamy and moody and forgetting her responsibilities. And when she dropped and broke my Ming porcelain vase last month, well, it was time for me to step in with some much-needed discipline.

Let’s go over them all, shall we? I began with her wardrobe, since I believe that’s the root of most evils in female behavior. With just one standard but cute little dress and apron, and plenty of petticoats, she no longer has to worry about picking out her clothes. No, it’s all nice and sweet and standard. The cuffs and the collar? Well, those are to remind her - and everyone around her - that she’s my maid, and no one else’s. When she’s on the job, she’s under my command - simple as that. You have to remind her so she doesn’t forget her place…

Oh, and the diaper? That’s my own personal touch - I’m glad you asked! It serves lots of purposes, honestly - to keep her from wasting time in the bathroom - to embarrass her and keep her from running away - and of course as a sort of chastity belt to keep her from flirting with the male gardeners. Don’t say I’m cruel or heartless, either! To help her enjoy it more, you’ll notice that I’ve given her a lovely little vibrating toy, too; it’s really so very useful. For example, whenever I want to show her appreciation for a job well done, I can give her a nice little tingle. Or if, as now, she needs to be punished, why, I can simply turn it on full speed and watch her absolutely melt…

Go on, Koko, tell us. You were a very bad girl for mistress this morning, leaving wrinkles in my bed after you said you’d made it.
