Makoto’s earrings belonged to her mother, Makoto’s mother received them as a 16th birthday gift from her father. When Makoto was born her mother felt it would be best to pass them on to her, so when Makoto was only a few months old her ears were pierced and they were placed in her ears. After her parents died, her earrings reminded her and still of her parents love.
