Pumpkin Smoothie (w/protein!)
Summer is slowly coming to an end, and with the cooler nights I have been looking up yummy and healthy autumn-inspired recipes! I tried this one out today and loved it!!! I took out some unnecessary calories and trimmed it down to this delicious and healthy recipe, friendly to your taste buds and your waste line! Try it out, I promise you will love it!
Ingredients
½ cup pumpkin (canned or freshly cooked.)
3-5 ice cubes
¾ cup almond milk (unsweetened, vanilla flavored works well!)
½ scoop (or approx. 2 T) vanilla protein powder
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp pumpkin pie spice
pinch of ground ginger & stevia (or any sweetener) to taste
*Optional: ½ graham cracker to sprinkle on top!
Directions
Easy-as-pie. Well, easier. Just throw it all in a blender with ice and enjoy. Crumble the graham cracker on top, and voila!
**Tip: If you don’t have vanilla protein powder (and don’t want to buy it) substitute it with Plain Greek Yogurt (0% or 1%) and flavor it with a titch of vanilla extract. . this way, your smoothie will still be packed with protein, but low in calories!
