POOL SORY - PART 3

On Monday morning Johnson goes to school excited and apprehensive to see his weekend study group “friends” in their more familiar setting and with their clothes on.

He goes to the first class but they’re not there. He takes his seat, still a little tender from the weekend’s caning, and his heart skips a beat each time the door opens in the hope that it’s Wendy or Jane or Erin.

The girl’s chairs are empty when the teacher, Miss Evans, arrives with a strange announcement.

- “Johnson, you’re to report to the Headmistress’ office at once!” she said sternly.

The whole class was silent as they watched him fumbling to pack his things and make his way uncomfortably out of the room, his head spinning as to what the problem could be. He reached the Headmistress’ secretary and she asked him to wait for what seemed like an eternity while she announced his arrival. He could hear muffled female voices inside but couldn’t make out what they were discussing.

The door burst open an the secretary waved him inside. He froze in the doorway when he saw Wendy, Jane and Erin, all in tears, sitting with their mothers with their faces in their hands looking quite different than the last time he saw them.

- “Is this the boy?” The Headmistress asked the girls

Wendy looked up at him and pointed.

- “Yes Ma’am. He’s the one who secretly videotaped us sunbathing.” and burst into deep sobbing tears.

The mothers frowned at him with screams for vengeance coming from every anger-filled element of their faces.

Johnson stood dumbfounded. The Headmistress overwhelmed him with questions.

- “ Did you go to Wendy’s on Saturday?”

He nodded.

- “Were the girls sunbathing?”

He nodded.

- “ Were they topless?”

He looked at the mothers in panic.

- “Well?”

He nodded.

- “And you filmed them?”

He started to nod before he realized and caught himself.

- “No… no… I didn’t… I can explain…” 

He started to ramble about the study group and the science project but the Headmistress had heard enough.

- “Wait outside the door. I’ll deal with you when I’ve finished up here!”

“But Ma’am…”

- “Outside!”

He took one last look at the scornful faces of the women glaring at him and the three girls gloating and trying not to laugh and crept back out the door to where the secretary already had the cane and punishment register out on her desk, her head shaking in scorn.

He stood in the familiar place of those waiting to be caned while other students filed past between classes and tried to work out what he would say to get out of his predicament.
