Happy birthday to #HarryPotter ! Growing up, during those precious years between the first few books and the movies, I had some … interesting ways of showing my fandom.

One of those was celebrating Harry’s birthday. I always made rock cakes from an unofficial cookbook, but I also made signs. Like, I figured out how to download fonts, made a poster in Word and then glued like 8 print outs together to make it huge. It was a very obnoxious “Happy Birthday, Harry Potter!” in the book font, with marker coloring and crappy drawings.

I then taped it at the end of the driveway so everyone driving by would see it. And then I made a smaller one to tape in the back of our old Volvo. Because it was the most important thing to do, in my 13 year old head.
