In homage and memory of Hodda Saadi. Hodda was celebrating her sister’s 36th birthday on Friday evening with her friends and family at the terrace of the café “La belle équipe”. She was the first person I saw when I reached the scene, right after the shooting happened. There was an eerie silence, it felt like being in a dream, the smell of gun powder was still strong. Her brother was by her side, comforting her the best he could. The birthday celebration had come to an abrupt and violent end. Her brother survived but Hodda and her sister did not. She could have been my friend, my sister. Instead I had never met her until then, but that brief moment I saw her laying on the ground as she was living her last moment was enough for me to care and love her as a I would have for a dear friend.
