Nunnery Used as ‘Cover’ In Arthouse Robbery
Eight masked men with a moving van used the St. Anne Nunnery as a cover as they dug a tunnel to crack an underground vault containing artwork and jewelry.
The Porcelain Doll, a famous art showplace, and storage facility was looted of $10.5 million dollars in artworks and another $2 million in antique jewelry during a daring robbery in which a tunnel was dug from the cellars of the St. Anne Nunnery to an adjacent underground storage vault. A single nun at the site was left bound and gagged on a mattress by the gang.
