I got a request to make some art journal prompts again! Last time I made this was back in February but I got busy with school and I didn’t have time to sit + think of prompts. Same rules as always, all these prompts are open to your own interpretation, so be as creative as you want! Draw, paint, glue things, make a collage; there is no right way to fill your art journal :)
- something you’re looking forward to this month?
- go outside and take a picture of the first flower you see. Use this as your inspiration.
- make something inspired by your favorite book! (or book series)
- the most recent picture you took with your phone?
- favorite fruit?
- make a something using only 3 colors.
- favorite memory from this summer? (or winter, depending on where you live)
- a page inspired by your favorite CD/album
- try a new art medium or use one you’re not as familiar with
- where did you go the last time you were in a car?
- favorite school subject?
- trace some leaves!
- fill the page with as many doodles as you can fit
- something nostalgic?
- orange color scheme
- make your own stencils + try using them!
- put your music on shuffle and the first song is your inspiration for today’s piece
- what does your bed look like right now?
- draw with your favorite pen!
- the last thing you bought?
- one place you’ve always wanted to visit?
- the last thing you ate?
- close your eyes and draw the first thing that comes to mind. no peeking!
- what does August remind you of?
- favorite piece of clothing?
- pick up the book closest to you and open it to a random page. make something inspired by your favorite line on the page!
- mourning routine?
- funniest thing that happened this week?
- what’s the first word that comes to your mind? make something inspired by it!
- the view outside the window closest to you
- what’s on your mind?
I hope you enjoy these prompts + if you do any these and post them on tumblr or instagram, please tag me (i track #coffeesforstudiers on tumblr) and my instagram is coffeesforstudiers, I’d love to see what you’ve done with them :)
