Spaceways was a series of erotic scifi schlock books, clearly inspired by John Norman’s Gor novels, written in the early 1980s (John Cleve is another name for prolific pulp schlockmeister Andrew Offutt). The hero is a space pirate who befriends a slave girl escaping from her master.

Just like Gor, they look more lurid and cool than they actually were. There are frequent references to the Marquis de Sade, but no real sex scenes as such and no action or starship battles, either.
