Description: July 7th, 1882, the Arnprior Chronicle reported sightings of a sea serpent like monster in Chats Lake, in Ontario, Canada. One of these people was John Dungan, who paddled his canoe over to the monster and hit it with his oar. The monster was struck again and sank into the water, never to be seen again.
