i was just talking about this bit on twitter and how it seems to imply that dragon and garp actually do talk now and then

so my new headcanon is that about once every few months the revolutionary army base gets a call on the den den mushi that’s a gruff, authoritative marine telling them they’ve been had and he’s hacked their systems and is gonna come arrest them all and their childish rebellion ends here etc etc

and every time the revolutionaries in the vicinity are like “OH NO WHAT DO WE DO” and dragon just sighs heavily and is like “ugh, it’s okay, that’s just my dad”

and then dragon picks up the den den mushi and is like “dad stop scaring my subordinates” and garp immediately drops the act is like “AH HELLO SON, HOW ARE THINGS? :D” and they just chat for an hour completely normally

I imagine Garp replying like, “Is that the way to talk to your dad, huuuuuh?!”

And then he falls asleep in the middle of the call.
