Thought I’d make a quick process gif of my recent Aloy illustration - steps are outlined below!

1. Reference! I use Figma Archetype Next figures sometimes (like here) - they’re pretty great! 

2. Crappy Pencil Sketch

3. Outfit and equipment overlay in photoshop.

4. Clean inks.

5. Ambient occlusion!

6. Add flat colors!

7. Subsurface scattering and blue fill light.

8. Highlight.

9. Some warm bounce light. Horizon has such warm colors all the time on those sunsets I wanted to throw some warmth in. 

10. Inks are back!

11. Color holds on the inks. 

12. Background added.

13. Final tweaks.
