I can confirm wishing on a shooting star works. While shooting a time lapse of the northern lights last night a couple bright fireballs lit up the night sky. Of course, they were out of the frame. There may have been some wishing going on under the dark sky. As if on cue, a fireball dropped direct dead center of the frame. I can confirm I did NOT win the lottery after wishing on this fireball.
