Guess which nation does most of its travel and transport by highway and air, leaving no economic incentive for the massive infrastructure investment in new track lines that would be required for high-speed rail. Guess which nation doesn’t have enough money to maintain the existing infrastructure let alone build a completely new one based on some “Field of Dreams” hope that if you build it they will come?

“Why don’t we have X like Europe and Asia?” Because America is not like Europe or Asia in how we live or WHERE we live.
