“I’m not automatically going to know how to paint. I have to go to an art class or an art teacher to teach me how to paint. Similarly, I don’t always automatically know how to help myself when it comes to mental health. But there are doctors and professionals out there, who…this is their life, their purpose, their job. They’re there to help, and it doesn’t make sense not to take advantage of them.
Don’t wait to the point where you can’t find the answer. Just GO. DO something. Talk it out, write it out, draw it out, act it out, sing it out. Don’t push it down because of shame. Help yourself. And then go and help other people.”
This brilliant lady was brave enough to share a lot of her personal story with me, which I will post at a later date, but for now, I could not love this quote from her interview any more if I tried.
