#it’s almost like when jedi was around force-sensitives are safer huh #guess why :)
“Are we the baddies?”
*coughcoughOrder66coughcough*
……ok so the Jedi would go around the galaxy, grabbing up all the Younglings with Force powers they could and inducting them into the Jedi Order. That’s true. HOWEVER! What the Jedi wouldn’t do is TORTURE THE KIDS TO THE BREAKING POINT IN ORDER TO TURN THEM INTO FUCKING TORTURERS TO HUNT DOWN OTHER KIDS!
Is there any evidence to Jedi just scooping up kids without parents permission, because all that I’ve seen in canon is the Parents being rather chill with the Jedi taking the kids, because it means they’re probably get a better life.
Listen if we’re going with the movies + Clone Wars canon we ONLY see Jedi take kids with parental permission. Even ANAKIN needs Shmi’s permission to go with them.
The only person we see during the republic era stealing kids is Cad Bane, when he steals the list from the Jedi of Force Sensitive kids whose family’s have SAID NO and the Jedi CLEARLY RESPECTED THAT DECISION.
The Jedi do not steal children and there is zero evidence that they do. Joining an order to control your powers? Sure. That’s just good sense.
I mean unless you also think Professor X also kidnaps kids when they join the X-Men (not counting ones who he removes from harmful situations).
And nobody is forced to stay a Jedi. Even in Clone Wars, Ahsoka was like “I’m leaving k,” and the Jedi respected her decision, they didn’t force her to stay. When Anakin in the comics considered leaving, nobody said “well you can’t” it was “let’s talk it over and make a decision” and Obi-Wan was ready to leave with him.
The Jedi do not and have never stolen kids. Cad Bane being a shithead bounty hunter working for the Sith does not count. When Cad Bane is captured, Ahsoka hands Roo Roo Page (the little Gungan girl) over to her mother and says, “Your daughter is safe now.” and there’s zero indication that she’s going to be a Jedi in the future.
There’s the entire Bardotten storyline, where they did accuse the Jedi of being kidnappers, so the Jedi stopped going there and hadn’t been there in a long time, because they respected when people told them no.
There’s also zero evidence that any of the parents were pressured in any way. Are they sometimes sad about giving up their child for adoption? Yeah, of course! They’re going to miss their child even if they know the child is going on to a wonderful life! But there’s no indication that it was anything but their own willing choice, there’s no indication that the Jedi strong-armed them in any way, like, they spoke warmly of the Bardottens even after being told no, they clearly understood when people didn’t want their kids to be Jedi.
Is it true that Force-sensitives were in danger in the galaxy just by their very existence? Yes, there are several examples of that and parents should be aware of that! They should know what having a potentially psychic child that the galaxy will want to do terrible things to entails!
But there’s absolutely no indication that the Jedi used this or anything else (like how they were better equipped to handle the child’s abilities) to put pressure on the parents, we are never shown that and are instead shown evidence to the contrary.
