Exploring the Belly of Angeles

On a mild October evening in 2015, I found myself meandering the streets of downtown LA in search of nothing in particular besides some cool night air, simple solitude and happenstance inspiration. These aspects somehow aligned as I found myself delving into the deep, empty paunch of the historic Los Angeles Theatre. As a first time visitor of the 1930′s relic, I was simply awestruck by it’s immensity and wealth of architectural opulence. Without a soul around to make a stir other than my own, I began to explore its corridors. The stillness and grandeur of the ancient beauty only grew more palpable as I continued wandering its mighty halls, rich with history. Feeling as though I had accidentally stepped through a portal back in time, or to a place in which I didn’t belong, I respectfully admired and appreciated the chance offering, released my shutter in the most humble way, enjoyed one last moment of substantial silence, and bid my farewells.

Sometimes the best things find you when you’re not even looking for them.
