It’s amazing how some background fact of life, something that exists but not in your world, can suddenly and completely become a part of your everyday. He wanted it, and she wanted him to be happy, and so now there they were, twin bars of metal lanced through the already sensitive nubs of her nipples. 

He’d hardly rushed into it. They’d talked, for hours, even though she’d said yes at the offset. There had been a few minutes of thinking, but the word had slipped past her lips before she even realised that she wanted it done. It seemed wonderfully erotic, the kind of marking that had shared knowledge behind it. But more importantly, secretly shared knowledge. Everyone else would just think she was a kinky tart. 

Which, all things considered, made her look positively innocent, what with everything they got up to. 

The problem was she couldn’t stop touching them. Like an itch that she couldn’t scratch, she was constantly worrying at them, twisting, twirling, pulling and pinching. She felt the metal through the skin, and she only touched the metal, feeling the tug against the sensitive flesh of her breast. She might get bored of them, eventually, but right now she was utterly enamoured. 

A background fact of life, something she was aware of on the periphery. And now they were grafted onto her flesh, a very real part of her. Life had a funny way of turning you around.
