I’ll tie you up and leave you, with nothing but the sound of the room gently settling for company, your vision obscured and obfuscated, your hands bound. The rope a reminder of why you’re there.

I hope you figure that part out. I’d hate to have wasted either of our time. 

It’s not about me going off and doing something else. It’s not about you being alone. It’s not about enjoying the bondage, even though you’re more than welcome to revel in the restraint. It’s not about the blindfold, either, or the lack of sight. It’s not about being able to listen, or being able to feel. It’s not about these things. 

It’s about forcing you into the cusp of a moment, when your brain has calmed just enough, where your thoughts become loose and intangible, spidersilk cast across a room, something that you can’t quite see, but you know its there, somehow. you know if you walk through that space you’re going to get caught, and so you steer clear. And you steer clear of your own thoughts, you get out of their way, and you just allow them to meander, and wander, and get lost, all on their own. 

It’s about you knowing that I’m there, even when I’m not. Feeling my presence, even though I may be in the other room, or down the shops, or in another country.  It’s about giving you just the tiniest window of time to actually let go, to let your brain worry itself tired, and then take a breath and say ‘Well fuck, what do I think about now?’ and then just see where that goes.

It’s about allowing you the room to explore your own head. 

Because I’ve spent an awful lot of time charting its expanses, and I’ve got to tell you, it’s quite stunning.
