Was looking through old pictures and found one from 2004 captioned “one of the best weekends of my life.” I literally laughed at that just now because I realized that I remember almost NOTHING from that weekend, and what I do remember wasn’t even particularly great (though it seemed nice, at the time).

What I love about this is the fact that life has this potential: the memories that feel so amazing, impossible to surpass, are, in fact, outshone by new events, over, and over, and over again.

Life regularly outdoes itself. How lucky we are for that.
