DAWN Spacecraft Orbiting Dwarf Planet Ceres
This past February, it8bit visited NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA where we were immersed in the science of some pretty incredible missions. The DAWN spacecraft has traveled over 3 billion…>B<illion… miles over a span of 7 years and has finally settled into orbit around the dwarf planet Ceres. Scientists have been intrigued by two sunlit reflections on the planetary body and come May, images will reveal the surface in far greater detail. EXPLORATION!
VisitThe Planetary Society to read much more from Marc Rayman, DAWN’s Chief Engineer and Mission Controller.
