Ideally with a grip module that’s composite like the 2011 that could be printed, cast, or glassed

All the mags, springs, pins, etc being home rolled as well.

Alright, enough people pushed for a blowback design instead. How about a garage buildable 9x19 based on the vz.61 family, particularly the vz.68 but with a simplified trigger and glock mags? It’s not thatbulky:

Making the telescoping bolt from cut, drill, stacked, and welded pieces of plate steel would be a PITA but doable by a great many.

Glock mags are plentiful and already 3D printable. I’d go with a very different trigger but the overall design seems more workable.

SMG the easiest way is A serbu ROF type. Drawn over mandrel pipe, threaded front and back, weld a plate to the barrel to be clamped by the front nut, using an AR-15 trigger group in a drilled and welded FCG box.

That’ll make a neat little legal semi-automatic PCC.

While I get the idea of the rotating and locking barrel it just seems a slightly over engineered for a garage build.

The idea is a side arm with better than normal garage quality but still being a decentralized parts supply. If only two parts need a lathe and milling machine then it would be easier for a small machine shop to do a run of those parts. Meanwhile any auto body shop, muffler shop, or decently equipped DIYer can make the rest themselves. The grip could definitely be stamp metal as well but stamped grips seem universally hated.

The GG3 is just a small format CNC machine that handles aluminum right? Unless I’m confusing it with something else. And that’s kinda what I’m getting at. A Sten and MP5 are both stamped guns but worlds apart. This is something in between on that scale.

Simple or straight blowback sucks on anything over .380 or 9x18 in pistols.

Right, I forgot the GG3 is aluminum only.

And the Sten isn’t a stamp steel gun? Isn’t it a pipe gun?
