does anyone else take Lamotrigine/Lamictal for epilepsy? i want to ask if your brain or body was very sensitive to increases to get to your dose (like weird body symptoms when increasing) i had to increase much slower than recommended because i felt really weird otherwise. i also want to ask if you’ve been getting any minor memory issues after being on them for months. thanks

own experience: I used to be on lamictal for a short time (about 2-3 years??? I’m not sure, those years are a bit hazy..).. I don’t know wether it was mental health, puberty or lamictal, but I went from being able to remember all my homework without writing them down to being so forgetful about it, even when i remembered to write it down. (also a lot of “I forgot” things…)
I also experienced severe shaky hands.
Also signal boosting. I take Lamictal, but I’ve been on it for so long that I don’t even know who I am without it.
Please don’t put slashes in your trigger warning tags. I just saw a post tagged both “epilepsy //“ and “flashing //“. The slashes at the end of the epilepsy tag did not prevent it from showing up in my epilepsy tag search. But the slashes in the flashing tag did prevent tumblr’s built in tag filters from recognizing it as a blacklisted tag. The only thing adding slashes does is make it harder for people who need to filter those tags to do so. (Also, I know xkit allows things to work differently, but people have different reasons for only using tumblr mobile. Like for me, as far as I know, there’s no good extension to disable autoplay on tumblr on desktop but the mobile app lets you disable autoplay, even though it’s not perfect. And you can’t add extensions to the mobile app so… please try to assume people are working with tumblr’s system, not that everybody has extensions to make tumblr work differently.)
TLDR;Don’t use slashes to try to censor tags, it just makes tags harder to filter, and don’t assume everyone uses xkit or other extensions.

Doctor: ok now quit your antidepressant cold turkey, stop taking melatonin or other meds that make you sleepy, and instead take this anti-seizure medication that causes insomnia, bouts of rage, random crying, and increased anxiety and depression.

Media was better before epilepsy warnings. Weed out the weak
I have a better idea. How about we display an “epilepsy warning warning” before the epilepsy warning itself, so whiny edgelords like you can know to look away before seeing it. That way epileptics will still receive warning that some unimaginitive dipshit put strobes in their media, and delicate little flowers like yourself won’t suffer the irresistible urge to say something stupid about it on social media.
Epilepsy problems: I’m out of sick days, and there’s another month and a half left in the year. I took my last (only) personal day to recover from xcopri. At this point if I get sick it’d better be covid, because that’s the only thing I can take time off for.
If you’d like, I can arrange a staged kidnapping next time you need a day off. We’ll roll up in one of those nondescript white vans, grab you off the street in front of your place of employment where they all can see it, then drop you off at home so you can rest.
Once you’re feeling better, you can miraculously reappear, bearing a story of daring escape and survival. Your employer can’t fault you for not coming to work if you’ve been kidnapped. Hell, they may even give you extra time off to recover from your ordeal.
