I think Robespierre would fit into NGE rather well. It’s a show about kids driving around giant robots but it does a lot of deconstruction on what its like being a child soldier. In particular, it looks like the tried to blend Robespierre with Rei, one of the girls from the show who is very popular and the starter of a genre. NGE gets progressively more surreal so everything in the end is kind of up to interpretation, but Robespierre could hang out with the lead scientist guy and kill several children.
