I’m heavily biased but I’ve always thought South London has the best bookshops and now it has the official smallest; secreted within Peckham’s Holdron’s Arcade this lovely little gem lies replete with vintage titles. Book & Comic Exchange, W11. This has to be one of the most eye catching shops I’ve gone into since I’ve been doing this. It’s literally 50/50 books and comics which adds to the visual punch to begin with (something quite appeals about vintage copies of Shakespeare being under the same roof as rare X-Men editions,) but those section demarcates! All hand drawn in exquisite detail and they’re all over every last bit of the gaff. This place has personality and charm in spades! Treadwell’s, WC1E. On to an emporium of esoteric erudition; Treadwell’s has advanced the experience of shopping to something truly inclusive and 21st century. This is a very well put together journey through the full spectrum of the spiritual with plenty to cater for the sceptical as much as the scholar. A strong emphasis on history does it credit whilst the shop mascot Lady Luck and the ‘Browser’s Sofa’ add to the fun. http://www.treadwells-london.com/
