QUEENDOM 2: UNIT RANKING

Ep 7 | Unit Round - Dance Stages

↬ these are my ranking,my thoughtsandmy opinions. you’re free to discuss with me about anything, you’re free to disagree but remain respectful.

Performance Stages

1st Place: KEV1Z - PURR

To me, this was the stage were the performance was complete. The song was surprisingly good, the outfits matched the vibes, the dancing was amazing and the facial expressions were on point! The choreography really suited the song and you can’t help but be addicted to the dance highlights and there were several of these killing points! The way the performance started off with a smoke then the LED cat eyes was mesmerizing, let me tell you. DayeonandHikaru were beyond impressive, not only with their dancing but with their facial expressions when they were ‘center’ that really gave them that bad-ass vibes. The bridge of the song was surprisingly nostalgic ..? in a sense hahaha. The lyrics, the melody and the way they sang the chorus was just addictive. Then the chorus dance? I am obsessed with this stage. SinB was definitely best dressed! Her makeup was spot on it lowkey gives me Monster High vibes when was the focus! I am proud of Umji for pulling this concept off, she worked hard. I dont have much to say about XiaoTing since we all knew she would do great, and she delivered. The ending is THE ending we deserved! Well deserved 1st place. Thank you to the team who choreographed this dance and the stage!

2nd Place: I’m the Queen - Desire/Greed

I want to start off by saying, whoever gave the idea to make the video black & white of Red accents, bloody brilliant. Olivia starting off the performance with her dancing? Hello? She was MADE for that part and no one can tell me otherwise. Again, the use of smoke with the LED rain background, and the jazz(?) like intro was definitely the best move to pull. Heejin’s facial expressions throughout the performance was the best and just how such a villainess she was when the beat dropped. Overall, the choreography was on point with lots of great highlights, with some parts a little underwhelming. I don’t have much to say about Choerry but she danced good. Another amazing performer was Yves. There was one part where she was smiling then immediately changed in a split second to a more hardened expression. On top of that her solo dance? A stunner. She did so well! I could see that Eunji really had more experience. She was more bouncy and danced with a brighter tone than the others but did great nonetheless. Although, I did think she was a tad too 'smiley’ for what the stage was.

3rd Place: Ex-It - Ka BOOM!

Unfortunately, I do not have much to say about this stage as it was not my favourite. I did not enjoy the song that much but I did expect more from the choreography but it was rather underwhelming, specifically at the important highlights of the the chorus - when the beat dropped. Overall, I was not impressed with the choreography. They started off great but it fell short for most of the remaining stage. I enjoyed their villain mask concept. Nonetheless, despite being something new to them, EunseoandYeoreum really did well with portraying their concept on their face. Please pay attention to their dancing more! They’re great. Hyolyn did amazing as well when you watch the full version. Watching the full cam (stage), I did feel she lacked a bit of energy towards the end compared to Yeoreum and Eunsoo. She must’ve been tired, but its a good thing it wasn’t too obvious.

QUEENDOM 2: UNIT RANKING

Ep 6 | Unit Round - Vocal Stages

↬ these are myranking,my thoughts and my opinions. you’re free to discuss with me about anything, you’re free to disagree but remain respectful.

Performance Ranking

1st place: Milky Way Embraces the Universe - Hold My Hand

Yeonjung stole the show for this episode. If you’ve been here since Produce 101, you’ll know how crazy talented she is when it comes to her vocals & the fact that she’s currently in a musical (while doing Queendom) speaks a thousand levels. I’ve seen her vocals in produce and she has improved by tons. Her tones are healthier and I feel like she’s more confident now. Soobinwas very unexpected. I never really noticed her when they first debuted, although I knew she was part of the vocal line (which I mostly pay attention to). However, even though her voice isn’t as strong as Yeonjung’s, when the part is right, her vocal tone it the best. Something about her muted vocal style really sets things right for me. The way she talked about how happy she felt because she felt like she finally had a chance to show off her singing, I was very proud of her. Eunha’svocals are very sweet, just like how she talks and looks. I have no doubts that she’s a favourite among Queendom 2 fans but personally I don’t find her voice that charming. I feel like her voice only suits a certain genre of song and fortunately, she matched “Hold My Hand” perfectly. Eunha’s voice and part in this stage is unfortunately nothing impressive to me. It was a shame her falsetto was covered by Yeonjung’s high-note at the end. Overall, the vocal performance was beautiful! Well deserved 1st place!

2nd place: Sun & Moon - Don’t Go

I read comments about this performance and it was ranked last by many people. Unfortunately, I do not see why. An amazing thing about this stage was the opportunity for the Loona members to show what they were capable off. The stage had great singers but in terms of who captured the attention of viewers and mine most, was none other than our classically trained vocal Haseul. I don’t remember the last time I heard her sang that much in one song and it was beautiful; I hope BB will giver her more parts that suits her training background. The best part about this stage was their focus and immaculate delivery of harmony. Despite what others say, I think nothing lacked in this stage and the harmony really was their intention. They excelled in it & I’m proud. My favourite vocal tone definitely had to be Kim Lip’s & Chaehyun’s. Something about Chaehyun’s tone is so fairy magical that it is such a wonder and Kim Lip’s style is just beautiful when she’s singing this kind of song. When Chuusang “nabi” (butterfly), it was very pleasant to hear the way her voice solidified at the end. I told myself I wouldn’t cry when I watched this episode, but seeing the tear slip from Yeongeun, I cried too. It will forever be an iconic clip. I was quite sad she didn’t go into the dance team but she proved herself regardless in vocal unit. Unfortunately, I don’t have much to say about Jinsoul’ssinging or voice because it’s nothing special to me and her voice isn’t my preference. Although, she has the same uncontroable habit of winking when singing to control herself and it was cute. A beautiful song that was beautifully covered by pretty voices.

3rd place: 33 - To My Youth

Maybe I am a bit biased when it comes to this stage since this song is one of my favourite songs. To me, its not just the lyrics but it is also about how one chooses to deliver this song. Hyolyn is a perfect example of a singer who not only understood this song, she was also able to deliver it in a way that really touched hearts. She said she chose this song to comfort her teammate, but I also know deep down she wants to be comforted too & choosing her teammate was the perfect choice. She won’t say it on camera but I feel like something inside her definitely broke while singing this, not only because it was for her friend, but because it was for herself too. My dear unnie Minyoung. How I wish I could have given her the best and most re-assuring hug of all time. She knows she is an amazing singer, her ability to belt out her notes run the show. Yet, I understand how much it must’ve brought her down when her group was constantly voted last, even though they deserved top 3 spot. Her style was raw this time around & I’m glad she passed the stage with content, at the very least.

Individual Ranking

↬ I will only be listing my top 5 singers

1st place: Hyolyn

Nothing I say will bring justice to Hyolyn’s voice and her vocal style. She speaks for herself and she is damn good at it.

2nd place: Yeonjung (WJSN)

3rd place: Minyoung (Brave Girls)

4th place: Chaehyun (Kep1er)

5th place: Soobin (WJSN)

I am very excited to see how the dance unit will perform next episode. So stay tuned!
