The Japanese 25th anniversary website for Klonoa is holding a fan-art contest.Although it doesn’t appear to state that applicants outside of Japan cannot enter, caution should be taken if you wish to participate as they may be unable to ship your prizes if selected. Note: Bandai Namco’s campaign terms states that only residents of Japan can participate in contests they hold. The following is machine translated so details may not be 100% accurate.

Edit (5/16/22): 800,000 cumulative sales worldwide seems to refer to the series overall sales and not the sales of Phantasy Reverie Series, which has yet to be released. This same factoid is also mentioned on the “What is Klonoa?” page of the latest game’s Japanese website.
DuringBandai Namco’s stream as part of PlayExpo 2022, a short slideshow was shown explaining the elements new to this remaster such as support mode and the difficulty options. The first slide though, mentions the game has so far exceeded the sale of 800,000 copies cumulative worldwide. (Keep in mind that this number probably doesn’t include the US as pre-orders still aren’t available in this region.)
Cumulative worldwide sales exceed 800,000 copies! A game where you can enjoy a grand fantasy story with simple yet interesting action! A popular work that drew attention for its novel story and 2.5D expression, which is unusual for action scenes.
While actual sales data of the series is hard to pinpoint, the series in the past has been known to make it’s best sales in Japan only with the Wii game doing poorly worldwide. This looks to be the best pre-sale numbers for the series so far.
This week (votes cast between April 21 and April 27), Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series is #19 on Famitsu’s top 30 most wanted games list. Last week (votes cast between April 14 and April 20), the game was at #22.
