Scarlet Scarab

As a huge fan of the Moon Knight comics I have to say I love all the changes they made for the show. I love that instead of a rich, playboy Steven is a precious cinnamon roll/dorky museum gift shopist. I love the addition of Layla (especially in the finale, my QUEEN). All the stuff with Marc’s childhood. Everything was great, and they still made it feel like the comics despite the changes. The whole episode of Asylum I felt like I was watching one of my favorite comics. Also Oscar Isaac did some great acting and has amazing chemistry with everyone, including himself. Anyway, I would like more Moon Knight please and thank you. Now I’m off to rewatch the series.

Hands down, Tawaret is my favourite goddess, it was so cute when she was like “omg Layla we’re gonna have so much fun together!” That’s how you treat your Avatars Khonshu! Take some fucking notes!

layla-el-faouly:

Thinking about the first scene we get of Marc and Layla, and how he’s staring closely at her from the reflection of the fish tank, and how that’s the first time he’s seen his wife in months. How he keeps his burner phone and knows she’s tried calling him again and again, every day for every single one of those months because she still hasn’t given up on him and still loves him. How Marc had to put distance between her and him because he loves her, but when he knows he’s just a reflection that can’t harm her, he can’t keep his distance. Out of anywhere in the flat, Marc appears in the closest reflective surface to her that he can, bending forward, leaning closer. It’s been so long since he last saw Layla, probably thought he’d never get to see her again since he was going to finish business with Khonshu and let Steven have the body. So he bends down and matches her stance so that he’s on her eye level to see her better, and stares, lips parted, eyes focused on her face, until he remembers why he had to leave her in the first place, and tries to push her away again out of love.

Also, how Marc wanted nothing more than to “disappear” forever and promised Steven that as soon as the last job for Khonshu was done, he would leave him the body for good…

…only for him to run mad with jealousy when he realized Steven was falling for Layla, too! Threatening to throw both of them off a cliff, punching him with his own fist, making him fall down the cave… “You kissed her!!” Steven and Marc may be perfect opposites, but in their love for Layla they’re the same.
