I know history. In particular, I know Lenny Bruce’s history. Which is why I’m mad at Amy Sherman-Palladino (Again. I’m still seething over some Gilmore Girls stuff that I might not ever get over).

They could’ve named him Larry Bryce or something. They could’ve said he’s ‘inspired by’ or 'loosely based on’ and then they’d have had the license to do anything with his character. But now, if they don’t follow his story faithfully, is that going to be considered disrespectful? Because my heart is invested and I’m not sure I can handle the heartbreak.

This fictional Lenny and Midge have 1000% more chemistry than she and Joel or Benjamin ever had. They’re good for each other, damn it. She deserved the chewing out he gave her and no one else was gonna say it.

I want more of them together, but it’ll just make the ending all the more devastating.
