“Call me when you leave work,” she’d said; “I want to make something special for dinner.”

He wasn’t one of those men who managed to always be late from work. No; not with the wife he had waiting at home. It took an enormous amount of bravery, self-confidence and intelligence to do what she did. So much creativity, and he jealously cherished every second of it. But, it was always important to know when not to bring back friends of colleagues.

But it was their Anniversary, and he had no plans save to get home early. Curiosity drove him, and curiosity kept him company when he opened the door.

He found her in the dining room, and couldn’t stop the smile from breaking across his face.

Dinner is served.
