“River, doesn’t my pops make the best food?“ the chespin said patting his belly.  The froakie had just moved into town, and had made fast friends with that chespin, and was already staying over for a sleepover.

“I don’t remember the last time I ate so much,” the froakie answered contently, “Cid, do you eat like this every night?”

“Just about, Pops says I’m a big eater,” the chespin said, “anyway, looks like it’s getting dark, we should probable get ready for bed, then we can go exploring tomorrow!“  The Chespin went over to his drawers to look for his pjs.

“Hehe, alright,“ River said, “I put on my pjs too.“  While River was a bit apprehensive changing in the same room, Cid didn’t seem to mind, which put River at ease.

Just as the froakie was changing, Cid caught him off guard, “Hey, River, think fast!“  River didn’t and was smacked in the face with a pillow.  It didn’t hurt, but he wasn’t going to let Cid get away with that.

“Oh, it is on Cid!” River said as he grabbed the other pillow off the bed and took a few swings at Cid.  The two ran around laughing as the had their impromptu pillow fight.

“That commotion better be you two sleeping!“ came a stern voice from the other side of the door from the older Carracosta, Cid’s ‘pops’.  The two looked at each other slightly surprised and and jumped into Cid’s bed.  The two giggled as they were shushing each other, trying to keep quiet.  “That sounds better, you two are still growing, it’s important you get enough sleep.  Good night,” Cid’s pops said as the footsteps got quieter from the door.

River had realized that the two of them were sharing Cid’s small bed.  “Hey Cid?“ he asked, “Do you mind if I-oh that was fast.“ he was going to ask if it was alright if they shared, but the Chespin had already fallen asleep.  “I don’t think you would.“  he said as he closed his eyes to fall asleep.
