At the end of the film, Evelyn looks at her husband shyly like she did when she was a kid, and gives him a sweet kiss before they go into their meeting. Throughout, as various Waymonds touch various Evelyns kindly on the face, she reacts the same way Waymond reacts here: with wonder that someone has thought they were touchable when they felt like they were made of prickles and barbs.
