This is the giant Tsuzumi-mon (“Sacred Gate”) wooden gate which is the entrance to Kanazawa Station and is shaped as a traditional Torii gate.
It has huge drum-like legs, and had become a symbol of this Temple city which has the equivalent national population ranking of the UK’s Swindon or the US’s Tucson.
