Here’s my process for the tiny paintings: I paint the scene first. They are largely imaginary, sometimes loosely based on old sketches. Then I drop in the “person” (polygon). Tracing paper helps me get it the right size. For these little guys, I draw the polygons from life: cut and folded bits of gray card stock. I have a jar full of them. You may notice repeat appearances.
