Winter Recipes ― Maple Slush
When the world outdoors is covered in frosty white, it looks like a giant dish of vanilla ice cream. Vanilla is fine, as far as it goes, but vanilla and maple are better yet! This delicious recipe comes from the maple syrup-producing regions of New England and Canada. You’ll have to wait for a few inches of fresh snow to fall, so be sure to keep these ingredients on hand. Maple Slush goes well with shortbread cookies and a crackling fire.
1 cup whole milk
½ cup real maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Clean, fresh snow
* Stir milk, maple syrup, and vanilla together in a large bowl.
* Carry bowl outside. With a large spoon, scoop snow into bowl. Stir enough snow into the other ingredients to absorb them fully.
* Go back inside and scoop slush into smaller bowls.
