In the past I have talked about my inability to complete games. It’s bad, fellow nerdy people.
In the past I have talked about my inability to complete games. It’s bad, fellow nerdy people. For example: I have played, in part, almost ALL of the main Final Fantasy games (not including IV or V), but have only completed 2 of them (X and XV). To clarify, when I say complete I mean completing what some refer to as the “golden path” or the main story scenario and reaching the end credits. I’m not talking about 100% completion of every side quest and facet of a game. Some of them, I got 75% of the way through the story, and then stopped for reasons of various levels of validity (Chrono Trigger and FFVI don’t count, those files GOT CORRUPTED!!!)
There are so many games, where I have only played some of it, or worse, watched other people play it (most likely while playing an MMO or Minecraft or some other game with no hard ending) and it’s frustrating because I have this long list of games I’ve always wanted to finish but I never do…..much like the list of books I want to read and then never do.
So recently, after a short detour through FFXIV yet again, I have been working really hard to start finishing games. Since FFXV was released, I have managed to finish 4 games! My lovelies, that is amazing! It isn’t a lot, and two of those are on the shorter side, but that is more finished games in the last 5 - 6 months than I have finished in the last 5 years. For real.
I wanted to share this with you, because I have found this motivation to start finishing games, and I’m so excited that I am finally going to be able to play all of the games I have wanted to play and experience myself (instead of hearing others talk about how excited they are about a game, and just agreeing awkwardly while sitting down to restart Skyrim for the 20th time.) And who knows, maybe some of you have the same trouble as I do, and we can all try to start finishing games together, and share our stories!
