Have Rail Pass. Will Travel.

Today we left our comfy room and futons behind at Shin-Okubo Sekitei and headed to Shinagawa station for the Shinkansen to Kyoto. Normally it would have been a great train trip with awesome views of Mt Fuji as we sped by.

This time, however, the weather gods were not on our side.

It rained all day so most of the landscape was covered in low-lying cloud. Ah well. At least we’re here.

I’m back in my favourite city. Back where tradition and modernity meet.

I’m back in Kyoto.
