The reprimand stung more than any blow would have. The sudden finger in her face cowed her, was almost confusing, the lack of any physical pain making it land all the harder. 

Her brow furrowed and she shook her head for a moment, before he even spoke a word. The finger was enough to let her know what she had done was wrong, that her refusal wasn’t something that was going to be expected.
