I can’t decide what I would enjoy more, Shiro being Rogue in the classic attire or Lance being Rogue in the X-men Evolution Cartoon design.
Krolia is Wolverine and Keith is X-23. (And Keith’s father deserves a medal.)
Not really trying to match up characters, more like match up powers… but Shiro with his white stripe of hair…. I just had to.
Imagine them taking the gloves of to shake hands as a test…
And nothing bad happens.
Only good things happen.
Lance, well he was scared. A million different thought last rushes through his head of what could happen as his hand reached out, mirroring the one in front of him.
He was going to touch Shiro.
Shiro was going to touch him.
Would he disintegrate Shiro. Loose the only person who knew what it was like to be him; to live with this curse, this mutation.
Would his own hand and arm and body crumple to dust. Would he finally felt what Veronica, what Chase, what Mrs. Newman’s old cat felt.
For the first time since his mutation presented, Lance was filled with so much hope that it terrified him.
He lifted his eyes from their still slowly approaching finger tips to look at Shiro’s face. He saw his own worries looking right back at him and then some.
He suddenly felt selfish. Being afraid of this man who was afraid of even himself. Lance new what that felt like and he was still letting himself put this beautiful, scarred man through such excruciating anticipation when possibly the only person in the whole world who could touch him was standing mere inches away.
He studied his breath. He closed his eyes. He thrust out his hand.
He opened his eyes.
Shiro’s hand had caught his, their fingers entwining on impact. Shiro’s skin was scarred and calloused.
And warm.
He was so warm. Lance could practically feel Shiro’s heartbeat where their bare shin sat flush against each other’s, clinging tight like if they let go they could still crumble to dust.
Before Lance could figure out if he was still breathing or not the warmth spread.
Shiro’s larger arms are wrapped around him and he can feel so much. Shiro’s shaking breath tickles the hairs on his neck as the buzz of a hum moves from his chest directly into lances. And it feels like heaven.
It feels like swing seven again and holding his mama. It feels like playing with his siblings in the warm summer sun and wrestling in the backyard without a care in the world.
And in this mans arms- a man who’s still, for all intents and purposes, a stranger- it feels like coming home.
Im sorry if I did this wrong I’ve never posted on here but I’ve wanted to write a short snippet for this since the first time I saw it. The art is so amazing with such focus on emotion and I cry happy tears every time I see it.
