If you follow my Pokeverse a bit, you may remember each of the characters are associated with an element and a Pokémon Guardian. When Goh came around, I wondered for a while who it might be; I was quick to associate him with water, but I wasn’t sure about the Legendary. Then the anime naturally answered to that by bringing Suicune in, and it was perfect. Suicune recognized Goh’s pure heart, his kindness and compassion, and decided to bond with him. I was delighted, it seemed like a perfect match, and I’m glad it happened that way.
He still has his own journey with Mew coming, but that’s something different !
I really had this picture in mind for a long time (yes, the pose is absolutely inspired by that scene in Spirited Away), I hope I did them justice.
