Louis blinked in confusion. “You almost knocked me down.”
The man, a stranger to Louis, blinked back, frowning in concern. “But I caught you, too?”
Louis nodded slowly, processing this fact. He was beyond exhausted, but could feel the man’s hand at his waist as evidence of his claim.
“Okay. You can let me go now,” Louis replied with a yawn.
The stranger’s brow wrinkled, but he nodded. “You good?”
“Me?” Louis asked, blinking his eyes open wider with effort. “Yes; great. Mhm.”
“I’m going to let go now,” the man began, “and then why don’t we sit down? What’s your name?”
Louis bristled at the man’s offer. “I am fine. I’ll sit down when I want to.”

Harry gently squeezed Louis’ shoulder. “I’m going to drive. You have one job, okay, Lou?”
Louis nodded, his fear ebbing at Harry’s touch. “Okay.”
“Hold on to me and breathe.”
