El 21 de mayo en Chile se celebra el combate de Iquique, donde la corbeta Esmeralda al mando de Arturo Prat se enfrento al acorazado peruano Huáscar, durante el combate Arturo Prat murio luchando en la cubierta del huáscar y termino con hundimiento de la Esmeralda, pero el espíritu de nunca rendirse se convirtió en un grito de batalla que unió a la nacion
On May 21st, Chile celebrates the battle of Iquique, where the corvette Esmeralda, under command of Arturo Prat, faced the Peruvian ironclad Huáscar. The battle resulted in the sacrifice of Arturo Pratt fighting on the deck of the Huáscar and the sinking of the Esmeralda, but the spirit of fighting without turning back became a rallying cry for the whole nation.
