okay, so even after writing this, i’m 90% sure that minseok would NEVER let anyone eat in his pristine living room, BUT I CAN DREAM

Movie Night with Minseok: 550-ish words of self-indulgent fluff that I cranked out in about an hour. Um, enjoy?

You checked the time on the microwave again, smiling at the cheery pop of the popcorn inside. A little over 30 seconds left, good.

“You know, I’ve never understood why popcorn is considered such a movie food. You would think if you’re watching a movie, you’d want to hear what was going on. It seems to me like the crunch would make it like, the actual worst movie snack. Right?”

Minseok laughed as he swept behind you to set a bowl on the counter. “Oh, yeah, what about your snack?” He used the countdown as an excuse to snuggle into your back, his chin dipping to rest on your shoulder.

You reached up to sweep your fingers through his hair as you leaned into his embrace. “My snack? I made brownies!” You tried for offended, but it came out as another laugh as you gestured at the pan with the butter knife you’d been using to cut them. “And okay, I also bought ice cream, but neither of those are crunchy. Usually.”

The microwave chose this moment to chime its end, and you weren’t sure if that helped your argument or not, though from the warm huff of your boyfriend’s laughter against your cheek, you doubted it mattered.

Minseok lingered at your back for another moment longer. “Yes, yes, you and your sweet tooth.” From someone else, it might’ve been a criticism, but his voice had that warm, playful edge to it that had helped make you fall for him in the first place.

He pressed a kiss to your cheek before he took the two steps to open the microwave, which washed his kitchen in the familiar scent of melted butter. Carefully pulling the hot bag out, he dumped it into the bowl while you tried to maximize the number of brownies you could fit onto one plate.

“Besides, chocolate and coffee go so well together,” you said with a jerk of your chin to his shiny, well-loved coffee maker.

Not that he’d made coffee, but the night was young. And considering that Minnie has suggested a mini Marvel marathon, you were definitely going to need caffeine at some point.

Snacks in hand, you both made it to the couch to settle in for a night of superheroes. You propped yourself in the plush couch corner while Minseok arranged the food on the coffee table along with a few bottled waters he’d set out here earlier. Once everything was set to his satisfaction, he leaned back into the cushions at your side. Not quite snuggling yet, but again, the night was young. You had plenty of time to fall asleep on each other in a cozy ball of limbs.

“Okay, so where do you want to start, babe?” you asked Minseok as you reached for a water. “I’ve already seen, uh, most of the Marvel films, so it’s up to you, as long as the films are post-Civil War.”

He pulled out his phone as you drank and scrolled over the screen as he replied, “Well, I was looking up the best order to watch them in, and the only thing I could figure out was that nobody could agree what that best order was. So…” He continued to explain his reasoning, gesturing every now and then as he spoke. You couldn’t hide your grin as you screwed the cap back onto your drink. Damn, he was a nerd, but he was your nerd.
