OH

okay so you know that one scene in Lord of the Rings where Aragorn like is basically d e a d but not dead? Like VERY hurt and they had to train the horse to pick Viggo Mortensen up from the ground? Yeah, that one.

If you aren’t familiar, this character Aragorn falls off this cliff and his friends assume he’s dead (honestly I would’ve too). Aragorn is like out of it and he hallucinates his love interest. She kisses him like really softly and it’s so tender and - wait hold on I need to get a clip I’m not explaining this very well -

THIS BUT BOTW 2 ZELINK AND IT’S RIGHT AFTER THEY ARE SEPARATED AND THE WHOLE ARM ORDEAL HAPPENS AND LINK IS PASSED OUT ™️ because that arm thing had to be painful and draining af

I THINK I’M A GENIUS BUT I CAN’T DRAW, HELP!

Okay I’m going to take a shot at it, but it will pale in comparison to the source material:

It was more than legend that water renewed and healed, brought life with each and every drip and ebb, brought refreshment to hot summer days and warm calm to cool, winter nights.

Thus Link felt calmed by the sound his ears collected, the gentle babble of a stream close to him, the occasional splash of a playful fish, the way stones and pebbles made a song out of the stream’s flow. It was the soundscape of an undisturbed wild, and nothing could be more soothing.

He breathed. Despite tired lungs, he breathed, and scents of silent princesses came with his inhale. Like a stunning combination of soft peaches and petaled roses, it was like a near hill boasted an army of them. Link’s lips dared to twitch upwards.

This is what her hair smelled like.

Soon, short golden strands he couldn’t see tickled at his cheeks. Without opening his eyes, he could see her, draped in moonlight and resting upon meadows of Hyrule. Hair splayed and grass flattened, her smile gave life to the earth she lay upon, and she looked with love in her eyes at the young man who was sorely tempted to touch her relaxed hand.

But that was a past memory, and in the now her chin brushed his and so did her royal-bred nose. Link could felt Zelda’s smile as her lips gently opened and closed upon the brim of his bottom lip.

Link opened his lips to let her in, his eyes, and sure enough her green irises sparkled. But her image faded, lips that Link swore were corporeal replaced with light blue skies that darkened, darkened, darkened into a star-swept night, clouds that bore a moon blood-red.

Green eyes once in love, bled with fear and pleading. Zelda fell through the meadow and into embers rising, reaching upwards. Link was too late to take her hand.

“Link!!”

Link awoke with a shudder, arms twitching as his eyes popped open. The horrified screech echoed in his memory.

He was on his side and his breaths shook. He was terribly scratched and bruised and his ribs ached horribly. His right arm burned and singed, yet he cried not for himself, but for her. His own grief overcame any sense of self-preservation.

How dare he make it out and not her?

His sight was drowning in tears and his lungs exhausted hiccuped breaths when the hooves of his chocolate-brown horse Arlo stopped before his eyes. The long nose prodded at Link, and the former knight felt so much pain that he didn’t bother at first to take advantage. Once the horse got low enough, however, Link expended just enough energy to grab a rein and haul himself up and over.

He rode into Kakariko an hour later passed out over his horse.

Actually started this when I first found this post but lost steam but yesterday I watched the Two Towers and was suddenly motivated to finish it and I did (or at least as much as I am ever likely to finish it there was a lot of copy and paste as it was).
