xiao isn’t the biggest fan of affection [especially in public] but he’ll still find ways to show his love for you. Whether that be giving you little presents when there’s no special occasion or even holding your pinkie under the table while you guys eat, you can always count on him to express his love for you, even if it may not be in the most conventional ways. He probably won’t initiate a hug or a kiss but if you do it he wouldn’t mind but over the course of your relationship he would get bolder and start giving you side hugs that would slowly become the nicest warmest hugs ever. ahhhh

Huffing in extreme exhaustion, you brought your hands up, stretching as you let out a sigh. Good lord how long is this damn path. The vibrant colours of crimson red and pastel orange stirring in the sky as the birds chirped. You took a seat on a nearby rock, admiring the current scenery of the sky. You let out a snicker as you caught sight of a butterfly, the colours of the little creature standing out from everything else. Your ears prickled as you heard the sound of another person’s voice, alerting you.

“Hey. Do you want me to help you with your combat skills or not.” You looked over your shoulder, the Vigilant Yaksha coming into view. For a brief moment, you gazed up at him, admiring his overall appearance. The way the wind blew the dark locks of his hair towards the other direction, making him appear more attractive than he already is. Your eyes made their way down his body, landing at the sight of his dark purple pants. He raised a brow, snapping with his fingers. “Hey. Eyes up here. This is why I don’t concern myself with mere mortals like you, Now stand up. I’ll make this training expeditious, I don’t want darkness to envelop the skies.”

The sound of his voice.. it’s exceedingly soothing and mellow in one way or another. You could listen to him ramble about divergent topics all day. You stood up from the rock, the adeptus nodding in approval as he turned away from you, taking a few steps forward. You made your way to him, admiring the scenery around you once again as you proceeded to follow the adepti. He paused, stopping in his tracks.

“I trust that you are aware of what comes next.” Xiao hummed lowly, his golden gaze landing on you as he swung his polearm, awaiting for your next move. “Go on. Strike.”

You bit your lip, hesitating before gripping onto your weapon. You knew you weren’t as strong as him, after all he is a whole ass adepti. Letting out a long exhale, you plunged forward, aiming your weapon towards him. You felt yourself lose balance for a quick second, turning around as the adepti let out a hum. How the hell is he so quick? You can’t even keep up with him, even though this little training session you’re having just started.

“Hmph. Very good, though you could make more use of your posture and balance. Try again, try something else on me instead of.. whatever you did just now.”

“Right.” You mumbled, taking a a deep breath as you plunged forward unexpectedly, catching Xiao off guard as he managed to block your strike with his polearm, swinging it lightly. You pulled away, narrowing your eyes as you wasted no time and jolted forward once more, growing a bit impatient.

Xiao spun you around, grabbing both of your wrists with one of his hands as he slammed them down behind your back, forcing you to drop your weapon, his other hand making their way to your shoulder.

“How absurd. Do you realize how pathetic you look right now?” He muttered, almost coming out as a whisper. He pulled away from you, loosening his tight grip around your wrists, you turned to him. “What?”

“I still wonder why you’re so hard on me when it comes to training.” You wiped the sides of your shoulder, receiving a cold glare from the adepti, crossing his arms.

“Tch. I’m supposed to be hard on you, you need to adapt to it. A mere mortal like you wouldn’t understand such things like those.” Xiao retorted, narrowing his eyes at you as he sat on a nearby log, adjusting his gloves as he still felt your gaze upon him. He stared up, furrowing his eyebrows. “Why are you staring at me like that? you look ridiculous.”

You sighed, taking a seat beside him as you tapped your knee with your index finger, looking up once again as the sky was no longer crimson red and orange, it was now mixed with the colours of rose pink and citrus, a smile forming on your face. Xiao took notice of this little moment you were having, though he didn’t want to bother you. He tapped the anemo vision on his glove, glancing at you once more.

“Adeptus Xiao, take a look at this breathtaking scenery. Isn’t is pretty?” You stared back at him, both of you making eye contact. He blinked at you, wasting no time and stared up at the sky, his eyes wandering to who knows where. Though you were correct, the scenery is indeed breathtaking.

“Hmp. I do not concern myself with these sort of things.” He exclaimed, squinting his eyes slightly before lowering his head. “Though, Hn.. yes. I am aware. It’s quite.. mesmerizing to one’s eyes.”

You grinned at him, extending your hands as you caressed his own, receiving a flinch from the adepti, considering the fact it’s been awhile since someone’s touched him like this, it would make sense for him to be a bit shocked. You faced him, Xiao doing the same as he attempted to pull his hands away from you, only for you to pull him closer.

“Adeptus Xiao, will you please take me to all sorts of places here in Liyue? I would love to see it all.”

“Preposterous. You think I would listen to the likes of yo-“

“Please Adeptus Xiao, Just once?”

With that face of yours? It would be hard to even say no. You expected Xiao to start throwing some aggressive retorts here and there, though somehow all he let out was a low sigh, observing you closely with a softened gold gaze.

“..Very well then. Unfortunately, we can not do it right now, darkness is staring to engulf the skies. It’s more dangerous for us to be wandering around.”

“I see.. well since I’m quite far from Liyue Harbour, mind if you stay with me for a bit?”

Xiao pulled away from your grasp, tapping his right knee as he got up from the log. “Very well. Just stay seated here. I’ll get some firewood so you can be warm, it can get cold in these few hours of darkness.”

“Xiao?”

A low hum came out of his lips, though it was more of a confused hum. You’ve never really called him “Xiao” so it startled him a bit, your eyes wandered off once again. You gazed at his arms, admiring the teal-green tattoo on one of them. You took a deep breath, shifting on the log.

“Xiao, you’re quite admirable.”

He paused. Those words that came out of your mouth.. it’s been a while since he’s heard them. He felt as if his world froze, the word “admirable” dancing in his mind. How could someone find an adeptus like him admirable? He’s far from admirable. Xiao’s thoughts became a bit more negative, could you have only said it because you pitied him? These other kind of thoughts wandered his mind as well, angering him.

“How could someone like you think I’m admirable.” Xiao spat back, trying to restrain himself from getting irritated more further as he clenched his fists, gritting his teeth. “Are you only saying it because you pity me? Speak!”

“What are you talking about, Xiao? I’m genuinely being honest with you, you’re admirable.” The tone of your voice this time was quite soft, but you were telling the truth. You’ve grown quite attached to the Yaksha, he was always there to help you train and get stronger, you truly meant the words you were saying. “I’m not telling you because I pity you or anything, I am telling you out of honesty.”

Xiao’s heart pounded even more, a tint of deep red blush spreading on each side of his face as he turned towards you, extending his hand out, patting your head. The crimson red blush on his face spreading even further as you grabbed his hand, guiding it to your chest.

“Hey-“

“You have my whole heart, Xiao. Thank you for helping me train and get stronger, I owe you a lot.”

“Yeah yeah, I get it. I do as I please. If you ever find yourself in a troubled situation, speak my name.”

You chuckled as you got up from the log, giving the adeptus a gentle grin. You leaned forward, wrapping your arms around his neck as he froze once again, his fingers twitching. He was never really used to “human” things like this, clueless enough, he hesitantly wrapped his arms around your waist. He felt a new kind of emotion engulf his mind, he felt comforted by your touch alone, he even felt as if he never wanted to let go. The comfort he felt was startling to him, he’s never experienced this for a long time after all.

“You have no respect for the adepti, huh? I do not have the intention of performing such human things with the likes of you.” He retorted, his voice soon trailing off as he felt you sigh, about to pull away. Before that could happen, he pulled you back towards him, snaking his arms a tad bit more tighter on your waist. “Wait. uh.. You’re an exception.”

You brought your nose towards his neck, breathing on it delicately. Oh boy why would you do that? due to how sensitive the adepti’s neck was, his body shivered a bit. This sudden action startled him, fastening his grip around your waist. Xiao attempted to breathe through his mouth, his breath pausing for a second as he let out a deep exhale. A new feeling took over the adepti’s mind, the feeling of lust. Lust took over his body, his hands trailing down towards your thighs, squeezing them gently.

“You.. You really have no respect for the adepti now do you?” He hissed, his hand travelling back up from your thighs all the way to your chest, groping it for a short moment, causing you to gasp. “Hm. This is alright with you, correct?”

You nodded, grasping his shoulders as he hummed, his hands wrapping around your throat, forcing you to pull away from his neck. You stared up at him, his eyes weren’t the crucial ones you always knew, it was full of lust and excitement. He moved his hand down from your throat, leaning towards your neck as he breathed on it for a short while, before plunging forward, biting it.

You clutched your hands around his biceps, feeling a sudden shiver escape from the Yaksha’s body. You moved your hands up, caressing the back of his head as you ruffled his hair, Xiao letting out a low groan because of that, biting your neck more harshly.

“How absurd. You think you can just do that and get away with it? Hell to the fucking no.” He pulled away, groping your chest more roughly this time as the tone of his voice indicated that in the next few minutes.. or maybe in the next hours of hell isn’t going to be so soft. After all..
