I don’t know what I expected about Amphibia when I started watching it but RuPaul playing Blackpink so a 13yo girl can go super saiyan and beat the shit out of a huge lizard dude in a giant robot suit wasn’t it.

I know it’s upsetting to hear that the trio kinda separated after Marcy moved and as they got through high school, especially after the events of the show, but it’s told to us that even though the girls aren’t as close as they once were, they’re still close.
They’re close enough to still get together for Anne’s birthday at age 23.
They may not talk or see each other every day but that’s okay.
Some friendships work like that.
You don’t always have to talk to someone all the time to still be best friends with them.
The calamity trio will always be together. Just in their own ways.
OK BUT THE FACT THAT WHEN ANNE DIES SHES GONNA JUST… BECOME GOD?????? AND SHE KNOWS THIS??? SHES JUST LIVING HER LIFE KNOWING THAT SHES GONNA BECOME GOD IN A FEW DECADES. HELP
funniest part of watching the amphibia finale live was that after anne died in a very tragic and depressing way Disney Channel immediately cut to commercials and showed an ad for Beverly Hills Chihuahua
Okay but the way amphibia has already subverted the sacrifice storyline, showing that while Anne did an amazing and selfless thing, and should be recognized for this, she still has a whole life ahead of her and deserves to experience that, to make mistakes and wrong decisions and right decisions and grow, is so wonderful to see and experience. I love the idea of potential that is expanded on here, but also the idea that they are human and they are no less worthy due to mistakes or bad decisions, just like Anne said.
Since True Colors I could see it. I knew they would forgive each other. I knew they would love each other. I knew they would save each other. But I knew that wasn’t enough. The Plantars, the girls, they were meant to go their separate ways.
The Plantars will always be a family. No matter what world Anne is in or adventure the kids are on, they’re a family. And they’ll always have that.
It’s nice to think that they would be together until the end, but the girls needed to go their separate ways too. They needed to find out who they were without each other just like their principal told Anne the day before her birthday. And now they get to become friends again. Pick up where they left off and show each other who they’ve become.
All in all, Amphibia is about love. It’s about loving your family. Loving your chosen family. But maybe most importantly, loving yourself. And by loving yourself, becoming the best version of yourself.
