ANBERLIN. An honor and pleasure shooting with these guys for a decade. This shot was from my first “promo” shoot with them, taken on my first camera. Tonight was their bittersweet final show. It was an epic hometown finale with family, friends and fans (some who had traveled from all over the world). To me, everything it should have been. Hoping the film I shot backstage tonight, one last time, turns out as amazing as I think it will. I could write an essay on these guys, my brothers and friends (and maybe I will when my film is processed) but for now I just have to say I love them so incredibly much. And I’m so deeply grateful for the wealth of memories and music they’ve given to me and so many over the past 12 years and 7 albums. “Laugh, love, live free, and sing. When life is in discord, praise ye the Lord.” (more from the Anberlin archives soon)

Nate Young, my kid brother, once upon a time. I’m super proud of him, the music he and Anberlin have made and the inspiring way they’ve carried themselves over the past 12 years.
(His hair is a trip in these shots, but it was arguably cool at the time. Ha.) The guys finished strong tonight. Love them so hard.

About a decade ago, I accompanied my brother & friends in their band called Anberlin to New York for some some band photos (this one among others) and a rock show.
A few years later I moved to New York, where I would see them play live countless times over the next 7 years.
Tonight we’re all back in New York for their final New York show on their final tour. Bittersweet for sure. So stoked though.

Anberlin. The sharp version of Lowborn’s blurred back-of-the-vinyl photo, I don’t think anyone has seen this yet.
I love these guys so much. Not much more than 2 weeks and a dozen shows before these guys are done for good.
Seriously,go see them live if you can. I’ll try to unearth some awesome of my archived Anberlin photos from the past decade to celebrate the bittersweet end.
