I feel like “Izzy is a manipulative bastard who used his influence to make Ed feel like shit” and “Ed has agency and can make his own decisions” are two statements that can and do co-exist.
I’m so fascinated by everyone’s tags in this post. There’s so much nuance and all this exploration of Izzy and whether he is or isn’t a manipulator. I wish I had time to go through and reply to all of it, but I don’t, so I’m just gonna tell you all to go check out the tags because they’re so full of interesting concepts.
