it takes years to develop your craft. do not romanticize the idea of an ‘overnight success’. be a student. grow organically. get really good. hate your work. start over. find new ways to express the same ideas. the student becomes the master. your time will come.

#i love the hate your work start over #because thats so true #and it was all praise #but its not like it just magically got to that place #there was version after version #whole plots being scrapped and rewritten #scenes ripped apart and put back together #changes in dialogue #character adjustments #hours upon hours put into it #its never magically great on your first run #if someone tells you it is #theyre lying #it always takes more work than you think #but its worth it
