Natsuo tries to watch the ceremony before him.
It’s a happy day, a day of jubilation for the clan. The chieftain’s youngest daughter is getting bonded today, and to one of the best hunter’s no less. He’s supposed to be happy, happy for you, but it’s impossible. He keeps a smile painted on his face whenever you meet his eyes, but his eyes flicker to the object of his inner turmoil whenever you return to the celebrations, nuzzling up to your new mate with shining eyes.
Enji, the Salamander Chieftain, and his ever-present scowl, the flames wreathing his figure dancing and twisting in the air. His father. Any among the clan would attest that this is always how he appears, but Natsuo knows better. When you want something, you keep your eyes on it—so Natsuo knows every little tick, every microexpression the elemental chieftain possesses. The way his flames move now indicate his displeasure, those piercing eyes of his never once leaving his daughter. Any father would be pleased to marry his daughter off to a hunter like Bakugou Katsuki. Despite being younger, the explosive Salamander had earned his place as your suitor. Strong, fierce, he would be able to protect you, and provide. His bond to you would strengthen the clan.
But that means nothing to a spirit as possessive as Enji.
